Great post! Consistency across multiple media – and in this case platforms – is an integral element of “Advertising 101.” It develops frequency of message which in turn promotes retention of message insuring that the advertiser develops “top of the mind awareness” with their target audience.
I would add that Twitter is another way to connect the dots with some of their tools that promote contact management such as Tweet Beep and linking your Tweets to your blogs with Twitter Tools. The key is to maximize your presence on the Internet while maximize the efficiency of your time to create and distribute content.
Of course the use of Social Networking to develop additional platforms for your message in a more consumer friendly environment is part of the value of including Twitter to extend the reach and consitency of your online messages but that is the subject of a nother post!
